Prosecco DOC: Marco Fantinel’s satisfaction

“We are very pleased about getting the Prosecco DOC appellation,” declares Marco Fantinel, chairman of the Group which can now be included amongst the leading Prosecco DOC producers, “because it is an opportunity for the whole Friuli Venezia Giulia effectively to protect an element of our regional heritage, something we failed to do in the past with Pinot Grigio and Tocai. Stringent regulations – such as production limits, constant checks on the whole production chain and the exclusive use of Prosecco grapes – will eliminate “commercial” products like Prosecco Moscato or Prosecco Rosé which damage the image of this wonderful, typically Italian wine”.
