History - Our origins

Three generations and a forty-year history have transformed a small winery into a major company on the Friuli wine-growing scene. It was in far-off 1969 in fact when "Paron" Mario, a former hotelier and restaurateur in the Carnia region, decided to purchase the first vineyards near Dolegna del Collio to try out production of some wines to offer his clients. The Fantinel firm was thus born of a man's passion and the enthusiasm of a true entrepreneur, capable of foresight and being one step ahead of market trends.
