History - Our origins
The talk of the time was of transformation, increasingly modern technology and above all increasingly demanding and expert wine consumers. This is the reason why in 1973 Luciano, Gianfranco and Loris decided to believe in the same dream as their father Mario, continuing to expand the family's land assets with new and precious vineyards in the DOC Collio, Grave and Colli Orientali del Friuli areas. All in all 16 hectares which reached 300 over the years, the manifestation of production based on the vinification of exclusive proprietary grapes, a true expression of areas whose mission is to cultivate vines, with perfect microclimates for ideal ripening of the fruit. This has led to collections of wines of superior quality, wines that stand out even on the vast world scene, distinctive as a correct compromise between the historic wine-growing tradition in Friuli and the drive towards innovation which today is manifest in the strong and firmly rooted passion of Marco, Stefano and Mariaelena. It is in fact thanks to major efforts from the third generation that Fantinel can certainly be numbered among the most important Italian wineries, in terms of quality, quantity and investments.
The elegant location of Tauriano di Spilimbergo, a model for wine growing and for hospitality, within the green setting of the vineyards, has become the nerve centre of a constantly growing firm, the true hub from where all decisions are made and all production is carried out. From here it is possible to look beyond the horizon towards a future full of plans which also travel over the ocean and which can today boast a constantly expanding production range.
